WebSep 2, 2024 · Well, this is sort of the Beyer interpretation version of it. It's not quite right, but does have it's charms. (I've always been rather susceptible to AT weirdness). After a while of listening, I was able to acclimate to the frequency response. The 8066 is slightly more forward in the midrange. IMO the 8620 has a more U shaped frequency response, while the 8066 has a slightly inverted-U shape in comparison.

Also, you're looking for a 'phone that can be good unamped. I guess I would lean toward the D2000 myself, as it was an incredibly humbling headphone to listen to organ music. Good luck.
