Gershgorin's theorem
WebGershgorin’s circle theorem is intertwined with the Perron-Frobenius the-ory. It is one of the tools used to bound the spectral radius of a matrix. It follows from the Perron-Frobenius theorem that the largest magnitude eigen-value of any non-negative matrix is a positive real number, see in e.g. [1]. WebIn Gershgorin's 1926 paper 'On mechanisms for the construction of functions of a complex variable', he described linkage mechanisms implementing the complex arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
