Webb7 okt. 2013 · Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a slow growing, locally aggressive tumor that arises from the basal layer of the epidermis. It is the most common cancer in the fair-skinned population [1]. Lifetime risk of developing BCC is approximately 30% and the incidence is continuously increasing worldwide [2]. WebbSecond malignant neoplasms (SMN) are therapy-induced malignancies and a growing problem in cancer survivors, particularly survivors of childhood cancers. The lack of experimental models of SMNs has limited understanding of their pathogenesis. It is currently not possible to predict or prevent this devastating late complication.
